Miro Translate provides four options to facilitate the subtitling process: Video scene identification, Search and replace, Offset subtitles and Translate. To see them, click on Tools

Video scene identification

This option automatically detects shot changes in the video. To activate this:

1. Open a project and select Tools / Video scene identification.

2. Choose the detection sensitivity level and click on Start. This process may take a few minutes depending on the file size.

3. Shot changes will be shown by vertical red lines in the sound wave below the video player.

Note: Subtitles should respect shot changes. This option will help you to automatically identify the changes and to synchronize the start and end times of the subtitles using the sound wave.

Search and replace.

This option allows you to search for items in the text and replace them automatically. To do this:

  1. Open a project and select Tools / Search and replace.

  2. Insert the items you wish to search for in the Search box.

  3. Insert the new items in the Replace by box.

  4. Select Case sensitive when required.

  5. Click on Replace to start the process.

Note: This option will automatically replace all the items found. You will not be able to choose the elements you wish to replace individually.

Offset subtitles.

This option allows you to automatically change the time codes of the subtitles by adding or subtracting seconds. Use this option if time changes are applied to the video file. To activate this:

1. Open a project and select Tools / Offset subtitles.

2. Choose the required options: Offset only selected subtitles or Offset all subtitles.

Note: Select only consecutive subtitles from the list. To do this, click on the start in each block and the selected subtitles will be displayed in yellow.

Add time or Remove Time to the time code of the selected subtitles. Indicate the number of seconds you wish to add or subtract in Offset Value.

3. Click on Start.

This option allows you to translate the subtitles into other languages. For more information, see the Translate a project section.
